Dave AKA SÖNUS returns to Derry & Toms and we pick up the exploits of Dorian Hawkmoon and his amusing companion Huillam D'Averc in The Sword of the Dawn, third volume of Moorcock's epic The History of the Runestaff.
Meliadus gets miffed, Hawkmoon's stoicism is tested, D'Averc gets naked and Count Brass is bored shitless.

I have been looking for a way back into fantasy wargaming, I’ve tried with the usual, but it’s not lasted long, but the young kingdoms offers something new, something real and more importantly there’s a massive timeline just waiting for my imagination to take flight ! Thanks for transporting me back. 1982 I was 11 years old & my Grandfather and I often stopped at a little second hand Bookstore. We made a monthly trek to visit a retired friend of his that was a chiropractor who had treated the ruptured disk in my neck with traction. The shelves of that little shop were my peaceful reward for the torture of the rack. The Sword of The Dawn was my introduction to Moorcock. I read the entire book on the 100 miles or so back home. And have revisited it many times.
